Unlikely ... This isn’t as new as they make it out to be. The gold is being made 1 atom at a time ... and it costs many times the price of gold to make it.

It costs about a trillion dollars to do this.

About the only way this makes any sense to create gold is to create it and then hide it until the costs of making it have filtered through the economy.

Gosh; with just a little over 31 grams in a Troy ounce, scientists would only have to repeat this experiment a couple more than a trillion times to produce an ounce of gold.
