A new “TMZ Investigates” special on Fox Nation claims Nick Reiner is in no mental state to stand trial for the alleged murders of his parents, Rob and Michele Reiner, as the program reveals new details about his mental state, medication changes and the case against him.
“He is not competent to stand trial right now. He is almost childlike in jail, we’re told,” TMZ executive producer Harvey Levin told “Fox & Friends” on Monday.
“He can’t process the consequences of what he’s done. He knows what he did. He just can’t understand where he is right now, and I know that sounds crazy, but he is out of his head right now.”
Doctors had changed Nick’s medication a month before the murders due to his complaints of weight gain, and that adjustment “messed Nick up,” Levin said, explaining that Nick was diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder — which can cause delusions, hallucinations and mood disorders.
Levin described the alleged murders as “incredibly brutal.”
“We know people in the medical examiner’s office who are traumatized just by the pictures,” he said.
He claimed the killings had “all the markings of a meth murder” and that Nick had been using meth when he was “off the rails” after his medication switch-up, adding that he was arrested in a drug den.
“It has the markings of somebody who was just wild, wildly strong. We have not gotten the confirmation of that, but we’ve talked to people… If he were just Nick Reiner without something additional, the carnage wouldn’t have been the way it was,” Levin said.

Childlike huh? So, unlike his dad he’s a good actor?
Pffft!
That won't fly because he tried to cover up his crime by running off to a hotel and getting rid of the clothes he wore and cleaning up in the shower. He knew what he did was wrong and the crime of double murder.
So you're the one.
You must be new here. Lots of supposed conservatives are just the same.
Never understood the desire to run other people’s lives.
I mainly want to be left alone and the right to ignore, not be around, and not pay for, idiots who make bad life choices.
I am sure, if Nick’s trust fund is vested and he has access, he will find plenty of friends in prison and out.
Could be that the murders were simply instrumental. The extreme violence though inflicted on Robe Reiner and his wife suggests that their killings expressed Nick’s rage toward them. That they were caught and killed in bed suggest that he attacked them with little or no notice. That argues in favor of premeditation.
They would have to wait for his competency to return, before they could try him.
Maybe a stern talking to, but since it was double-homicide, maybe 5 minutes in the timeout chair.....just to let him know how serious this is.
Wonder what his lefty dad would want for him for this. Probably some probation or would that be too hard?

Hang him.
Here we go with the build up to the insanity defense. Childlike, not competent, doesn’t understand what he did.

Hang him.
I never had any respect for “Meathead” other than he was funny in his role as Michael Stivic. That said, I never wished him “death” and particularly by his son who now is kinda sorta showing the world that his brain matter is diseased. So, at this point, I feel sorry for “Meathead”. He didn’t do anything to deserve this, in my opinion.
You are still an idiot.
I think that fits nicely with my theory.
‘ You are still an idiot.’
I’m ware.
And Meathead’s character certainly did not paint liberals in a good light.
‘ And Meathead’s character certainly did not paint liberals in a good light.’
Kind of the point. Archie didn’t come off good either. What made the show work was the exaggerations of the characters and the conflict.
Making a bid for NGRI.
Waterboard him and let us know when he says he understands what he did and where he is. Or keep going. He’ll come around.
And completely parentless in jail and everywhere else.
Key questions include why Nick Reiner went to the home, whether he brought the murder weapon, where the bodies were found, the details of the victims' wounds, and if he took anything from the home. Nick Reiner's state of mind and drug use also matter toward the issue of premeditation and his degree of criminal culpability.
