Louisiana deserves a conservative Senator who will not waver. I am honored to have President Trump’s endorsement and trust. Let’s Geaux!" Letlow said on social media.
Cassidy responded saying he's running, and "if Congresswoman Letlow decides to run, I am confident I will win."

If she beats him in the May primary he should quit and allow the GOP governor to appoint her to the seat. Might not work out with an empty house seat and Cassidy would stick around as a thorn in our side.
This time it is a Republican only primary. There will be a runoff if no one gets fifty percent plus one.
Cassidy is finished. He was going on shows in summer of 2024 calling for Trump to drop out. The democrats can’t jump in and skew the results. Talk about not being able to read the room — Cassidy cannot.
Cajun spellchecker.
Agreed.
“Let’s Geaux!”??? Uh oh, who do we have here, a mind challenged candidate?
Even in bad French, it would be incorrect and should be “let’s gaux” or “let’s gaud”.
100%
Just sent her $100. It’s done only if they have a good chance to win.
I admit to not being up on Louisiana politics.
But John Fleming is also running. IIRC, he had a good conservative voting record in the House.
Is he viable?
Fleming is a solid conservative.
Cassidy is a moderate squish that Trump hates; Letlow is a moderate squish (anyone who says otherwise doesn’t know shit about her voting record) that Trump likes. Fleming probably isn’t on the radar anymore for the Senate primary unless something bizarre happens like Cassidy dropping out or switching parties.
Cassidy —> Letlow is a lateral move. Best case scenario is that maybe we can get an actual conservative to replace Letlow in the House; that district, like all 4 “White” Louisiana districts, is super-safe for the GOP.
Well, I guess that disqualifies her. She may as well drop out right now.
"Let's Geaux!" is very commonly used in Louisiana and in references to Louisiana because of its Cajun heritage and words with "eaux" having an "o" sound.
She's from Louisiana and is running in Louisiana...so not sure how that makes her "mind challenged" to use a common Louisiana phrase and spelling.
Oh...so that law *was* changed.
Interesting.
