Minnesota Doesn’t Set America’s Immigration Policy
American Thinker ^ | 20 Jan, 2026 | J.B. Shurk

Either the federal government exercises authority over immigration enforcement or the state of Minnesota does.

It has been disconcerting to watch Minnesota governor Tim Walz and Minneapolis mayor Jacob Frey go out of their way to defend not only the violent actions of illegal aliens residing in their state but also the criminal behavior of citizens who endanger the lives of law enforcement officers and everyone around them by obstructing necessary arrests.

The Department of Homeland Security has been spectacularly transparent about the targets of its operations in the North Star State. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents are going after vile human beings who should not be walking freely on American streets. Men accused or convicted of murder, child rape, and other horrific violence have fled their home countries and now call Minnesota (and other “sanctuary” jurisdictions) home. If they were white, Anglo-Saxon Protestants -- or could otherwise be quickly dismissed by prominent news personalities as just “privileged white boys” -- nobody would be defending these scumbags. Because Walz, Frey, and the propaganda press describe them as part of the “immigrant community,” middle-aged Minnesota women are willing to risk their lives to keep men who rape and murder women and children from being detained. The whole scene is sad, disturbing, and discouraging.

To be sure, what’s unfolding in Minnesota and other Democrat-controlled cities and states in response to President Trump and DHS Secretary Kristi Noem’s immigration enforcement operations has many moving parts. Information warfare is a permanent component of the modern battlespace. When almost every person on the planet has a pocket computer that also makes phone calls and social media sites are constantly pinging those pockets with targeted news stories, bits of information behave like bullets directed to shape or destroy the minds of those in the crosshairs.

I remember how insistent Democrats were on the federal government having exclusive authority on immigration when Texas and Arizona were blocking open sections of the border to prevent illegal crossing. And that was when they were trying to enforce federal law instead of defying it.

"...It is the globalist power grab..."

Absolutely.

Even more so, to me, this reinforces what the true nature of this is-a far Left Democrat power grab in the US, with the help of Globalists who view the US as an impediment to that.

And those Globalists are willing to spend a lot of money to further this agenda.

But just as much, this demonstrates that the "Demographics are Destiny" people are completely and fully integrated in the Democrat party leadership and power structure.

None of this is an accident.

The Left tries to gaslight people by saying "Oh, that is all in your heads. Of course we aren't doing anything like that." But their defense of the indefensible (protecting, hiding, or releasing criminals, rapists, etc.) belies that denial.

There are a lot of people now who hate the term "gaslighting". They think it is overused, or used incorrectly. But when you look at the behavior of the Left here, that mirrors exactly the behavior of the characters in the movie "Gaslighting" itself.

MN Democrats are desperate to keep their illegal alien voting blocks who keep them in power. Claims that they are protecting their neighbors is cynical bs. As the article says if the illegals were Republicans Putz would lead the charge to deport them.

All the Democrat complaints about Trump not "following the law", and they seem to have a party-wide agreement to ignore federal immigration law.

Doesn't work that way.

And they act like it's just "their community, so why bother us", but residency isn't fixed. There's nothing preventing illegals in Minnesota from moving to any state they choose. That's why immigration policy has to be set and enforced at the national level, not by states and cities.

In other news....

Kenya has begun deporting all Somalis. Saudi Arabia has begun deporting all Somalis. Countries the world over are deporting Somalis. And the president of Somalia, such as he is, says he welcomes Somalis back.

No one wants Somalis but Somalia. They are running scams all over the world and have taken advantage of every country that welcomed them as refugees. Send them all back.

Except they weren’t FOR enforcing Federal law.

They were merely FOR denying the State the ability to enforce Federal law, while Obama was allowed to IGNORE Federal responsibilities (uphold/enforce the Law).

“This is Fedzilla’s ‘job’”...Fedzilla, being the only legal monopoly, can thus ignore the ‘job’ w/o repercussions.

We either have a country, or we don’t.

With each passing year, and each fraudulent election, we have less and less of the country that was once the United States of America. Unless Trump is successful in his efforts, and others follow his lead and work as hard as he does, we soon won't have a country.

“Feral fever is spreading it’s a my way agenda no rules.”

***********

They are not protesters; they are anarchists and agitators and many of them are being paid to do it.

The feral fever keeps spreading because there is little in the way of disincentives to stop the mayhem. They are backed by local governing officials and undeterred by the administration’s toothless investigations and threats. And so it goes on and on.

Yep. Democrats during the Biden era constantly and repeatedly told us immigration is a “federal issue” and states like Texas did not have the right to control their borders.

Now that the fed gov is enforcing immigration laws, hypocritical Democrats insist “states rights issue.”

This is a federal issue. The DOJ needs to arrest anyone standing in the way of the federal government enforcing immigration law - starting with Tim Walz and Jacob Frey.

Feral fever is what causes the anarchists and agitators to get that way no normal person would do such things as they do.

Hate for everything is all they have left to live on.

Haters are going to hate, but they aren’t content to engage in peaceful protests. Instead they want to incite, vandalize and and generally disrupt the lives of others in the vicinity of their rioting. That’s violating the rights of people who don’t want disruptions of their daily life.

The right to protest doesn’t mean the right to disobey laws. Unfortunately the rioting won’t stop until its forcefully stopped.

,,,immigration is a “federal issue” ... hypocritical Democrats now insist, insist “states rights issue.”

As Phil Elliott observed in North Dallas Forty, "When I say 'It's a game," you say, 'It's a business.'"

"When I say 'It's a business," you say, 'It's a game.'"
