A woman was placed in handcuffs by police and fined £100 for feeding pigeons in London.
Video footage captured by a passerby showed the woman being detained by a group of officers and council enforcement workers in Harrow on Wednesday.
A notice later handed to the woman showed she had been stopped for breaching a Public Spaces Protection Order which covers town and district centres in Harrow.
The woman, who was visibly upset at times, was surrounded by at least six police officers and two council enforcement officers.
The incident unfolded at around 3pm on Wednesday on the High Street in Wealdstone, London.
Police were seen searching the woman's pockets while a man filming the encounter repeatedly challenged the officers over the stop.
Her possessions were confiscated and placed in a plastic bag by officers, although they were later returned.
The woman, who has not been identified, was placed in the back of a police van but was later released.
She had been handed a note by police which showed she had been detained for feeding the birds. The particulars of the offence were described as "throwing bread on the floor".

Michael, I will not permit you to throw your money away! When we get to the bank, I shall show you what may be done with your tuppence. And I think you’ll find it extremely interesting.
Don’t they draw and quarter people for feeding pigeons in england? Or is it impaling?
Ridiculous. I think it is common knowledge you aren’t supposed to feed the pigeons in the parks in London or you would be fined. But the number of officers and cuffs are really over the top.
Exactly. Had she been feeding Muzzies, she’d have been allowed to live another 32 days without her head being chopped off.
It was claimed the woman had received a warning from enforcement officers "but chose not to comply so police were called".
After speaking with officers for around 20 minutes, she repeatedly refused to provide her personal details. She was arrested on suspicion of breaching Section 50 of the Police Reform Act, which requires people to provide their name and address when requested to do so by the police.
"Her details were later obtained, and she was de-arrested and dealt with by council officers."
That “cop” looks Pakistani or Indian.

Just finished watching a Youtube video of Carl Benjamin ("Sargon of Akkad") likewise using this idiom and referring to the "ground" as the "floor."
Anyone got an explanation as to why the Britons insist upon this confusing designation?
