Indiana is an overwhelming early favorite against Miami in the national championship game.
The No. 1 Hoosiers have opened as 7.5-point favorites at BetMGM against the No. 10 Hurricanes on Jan. 19 in Miami. Though Miami would appear to have a home-field advantage, Indiana fans took over Mercedes-Benz Stadium for the school's Peach Bowl win over Oregon in Atlanta and should be well-represented in South Florida.
---SNIP--- A victory for the Hoosiers would be a third straight national championship for the Big Ten.

NIL money and the transfer portals have forever changed college sports.
College kids are now legal pro players and not just getting a convertible and a blonde and a suit from a local car dealer.
College athletes have been on the take since the beginning of time, but now it is sanctioned and semi-legal.
The days of the Alabama mafia paying the best players under the table, and Bear Bryant and all the rest of the bama coaches that followed are now going to the back of the pay off line, because big time money is out spending local car dealers, bar owners and other local businesses.
I went to a small college where the players were good, not great and no one paid them outright, but there is always someone that might "loan them a car" or buy them a good meal.
Graft comes in all sizes and shapes.
I wish I could take credit for it. It was on a sign that a kid made that was at the game with his family. It made the evening news up here, before the game started.
Secretariat?
You make an excellent point, even if it’s unpopular. I noticed the same thing in the game where the Illini defeated Tennessee. I think the big ten is the most prominent with teams of that kind. Their schools know that white kids can actually play ball.
I drove through Joe Montana's birth place {New Eagle, PA} last week.
There is a plaque claiming Joe but his family moved a few blocks down the street into Monongahela, PA where he grew up.
Driving down the main street, you cannot tell where one starts or the other stops, two small mill towns on the Monogahela River {one of the very few rivers in the USA that has it's origin in the South and flows North, as it starts in the mountains of WV and stops in Pittsburgh at the Point}.
I think college football sux since the NIL, so my TV should last 100 years as it never gets turned on any more for anything.
I watched those Miami running backs, and they are a real threat, IUD better be on their toes.
7 point favorite for Indiana is ridiculous, given how the Hoosiers totally blew out both Alabama and the Ducks, and Miami struggled against Ole Miss ...
if i was a betting man [i’m not] i would definitely take this bet on the Indiana side ...
“clown car of announcers.”
what? ... you don’t like Mr. Potato Head’s non-stop parroting of thousands of irrelevant numbers and statistics that are whispered by his producers into this headset, with zero insight into actual football happening on the field?
[i personally am forced to turn the sound off when this douchebag is inflicted upon a football game]
If the Democrats didn’t have their hands full on other fronts, they’d be calling Cignetti a Nazi for his authoritarian leadership style.
It wasn’t that long ago the leftist sports media was hating on Tebow for his devout Christian beliefs.
Although the team he played on had little in common with this current Hoosier team.
I can’t see Cignetti even recruiting Aaron Hernandez let alone keeping him on the team.
Gangbanger and murder matters to him.
If El Rushbo were alive, I’d bet he stir the cultural pot about Miami.
As I remember there were stories about rappers and gangstas possibly R Kelly on the sidelines of Miami handing out Benjamins to Miami players when they made a great run, or catch, or defensive play.
Heck, they got Ray Lewis and Michael Irvin on the sidelines now. Not sure Ray has any teardrop tattoos but he probably has rightful claim to at least one.

I was a guest of CBS Sports tech. crew, at the Ohio State University vs Oregon Ducks game in Columbus, OH.
Those technicians were a good outfit. I just happened by while they were setting up, the evening before the game, and they gave me a tour through their mobile shops.
Then the boss invited me to return an observe all the activity during the game. Very interesting (including the amazing, catered meals).
The camera guys were referred to as “the stars.” All the other tech guys were referred to as “the talent.”
The director and producer - behind the scenes - quite animated in their word choices.
But back to the tech guys. They lay out thick cables that run from the trucks, all the way around to the far side of the stadium and up to the very top.
There were also crews for the massive, mobile stadium lighting system trucked in from . . . St. Louis?
A friend of mine, worked Chyron (sp?) Generation from Chicago (I learned, later).
It was a good time. The boss, turned out, to be generous and on his last road trip of a life time. Really nice fellow. Bless him.
As dominant was Indiana has looked in the BCS playoffs, I’d be shocked if Miami stayed within two touchdowns.
Neat, kinda like how South Bend is named after...
St. Joseph river that flows South to North and
empties into Lake Michigan into another aptly
named town.
Any coach that can take the university with the second most losses in college football history to this point is the coach of the century.
I don’t know if the SEC can survive it’s association with ESPN.
Do SEC fans understand that ESPN is owned by Disney, so its brand is run by the groomer network?
Want to smack down the House of Mouse? Football fans could do it if they all cancelled ESPN subscriptions.
Well that reminds me of ND vs UM aka
catholics vs convicts.
May the luck of the Irish bestow on the Hoosiers
and make little ole Indiana proud once again!
At the end of the game , the Indiana QB had a clean uniform and didn’t look like he broke a sweat .
After throwing 5 touchdowns.
That speaks volumes about his line
, the Indiana QB had a clean uniform
Because the game was on artificial turf.
YouTube has a SkyCast option where the non-stop jabbering is absent. Love it!
