Indiana is an overwhelming early favorite against Miami in the national championship game.
The No. 1 Hoosiers have opened as 7.5-point favorites at BetMGM against the No. 10 Hurricanes on Jan. 19 in Miami. Though Miami would appear to have a home-field advantage, Indiana fans took over Mercedes-Benz Stadium for the school's Peach Bowl win over Oregon in Atlanta and should be well-represented in South Florida.
---SNIP--- A victory for the Hoosiers would be a third straight national championship for the Big Ten.

Anyone miss when all the major bowls were played around New Year's and you didn't cable to watch?
Yeah, I do miss that... I just watched the highlights last night.
BTW, Indiana absolutely crushed Oregon. Geez...
I’ll take Miami and 7.5 points.
Right now - at this particular moment in time.
Indiana was a ruthless machine! IF they play like that, Miami is toast.
Indiana could have beaten half the NFL last night.
Yes...I do miss the old bowls. It was almost comforting to settle down to watch the Rose, the Sugar, the Cotton and the Peach. And some that no longer are around like the Bluebonnet Bowl...
If it wasn’t for all the NIL, transfer portal, sex crazed coaches, hyped importance, short-short unprotective football pants, snotty football fans, which taint college football, I would be very pleased with Indiana’s team. They play very sound football.
Their OL is athletic and they stick with their assignments. Pleasure to watch.
Everyone on the team seem to deliver consistent performances. Mendoza was correct when he said that he was just one of the 22 players on the team.
I’m sure 18th century Harry Hoosier would be proud of his namesake team. (A common theory on why Indiana decided to nickname their state the Hoosier state.)
Miami vs JMHoosiers is going to be a great game. Both teams have “no business being there”. Miami is an ACC team and Indiana has a 2nd year coach from a Sun Belt Team. You can practically hear the harummphs from the SEC.
Yes. They were moving like a tremendous machine!
Oregon self-destructed and IU was clinical in converting: pick six, fumble inside own five yard line, fumble deep in Oregon territory, blocked punt and IU recovery inside Oregon 10. Oregon gift wrapped a blowout, Indiana added another in regular play, and Oregon’s offense was two explosive plays. I think voodoo dolls might have been involved.
I’m not sure I’ve watched a game on ESPN all season, and certainly not with this clown car of announcers. Given that this was a playoff semifinal, I assume that burlesque is what ESPN considers its A team. That was embarrassing; ESPN is owned by Disney, and they might as well have been wearing Mickey Mouse ears. Obviously the announcing team thought they were doing standup comedy and that their schtick was better than the game. If I were running an SEC school, I’d look to join the Big Ten just to switch to Fox.
You can practically hear the harummphs from the SEC
LOL! Yes you can!
Check out Josh Pate’s reaction piece on YouTube. He says this was the first IU game he’s attended in person this year, and he was totally sold on the IU fans and the culture. He said he was expecting to get needled a bit given how slow he’s been to come around, but no: nicest group of fans he’s ever seen and they took over the stadium, and Atlanta.
Even Paul Finebaum ran up the white flag last week, saying that even if Ole Miss somehow won the national championship, he had to acknowledge the obvious. He was perfectly gracious and even a bit funny. His flag is planted on SEC Hill, but he’s been overrun. He didn’t mention Custer, but that was the gist of it.
Nobody wants to say it but I will.
Indiana is loaded with White players.
It’s a smart team that doesn’t get sloppy, make mistakes or act a fool.
I believe that’s a major reason why they are so good.
Digital be a interesting contrast between the thUg life team.....especially in their own backyard.
IU didn’t even boo when the Ducks came on to the field. That’s how nice they are.
I was expecting to see Oregon come out with a grudge match attitude, and that never developed. It wasn’t even close.
You’re gonna lose.
One of the lowest in penalties per game. Top 5. They do not make mistakes, well-disciplined and intelligent. They will win
I think it is rotten that these games are on ESPN. I hate ESPN.
Miami 24-14 over Ohio State...Indiana 13-10 over Ohio State. The 7.5 and Miami seems doable.
Quote of the night for me was the announcer in referring to Oregon “if you’re going to play a team that doesn’t make mistakes, you can’t make any either.”
IIRC, Oregon turned the ball over at least twice that led to Indiana points.
The game should be on a Friday night, not Monday.
It would be a more interesting game to see Indiana play the worst NFL team than Miami.
