SNL began about the time I went to college. They made jokes about Nixon and Ford. Chevy Chase would pretend to be Ford and was always falling over nothing.
But Ford was a sport about it because I remember him queuing SNL one night w/"Live. From NY. SNL!"
About the time the Belushi and Chase left I stopped watching.

Chevy Chase would pretend to be Ford and was always falling over nothing. And as a result, people to this day think Gerald Ford was clumsy. He wasn't. Cornelius Crane "Chevy" Chase was lying.
