I do my grocery shopping at Walmart, BUT I buy my meat at Winn Dixie. Unfortunately that is ending soon as my Winn Dixie closes on 2/1/26 and so far has no buyer. I’m hoping Piggly Wiggly buys it rather than Aldi...but no definitive word yet...sigh Those are only two names of potential buyers...
I used to be friends with the meat manager at my local Winn Dixie. So if I showed him a package of meat that even had a week until expiration date, he would mark it down for me at half (or more) off. I once bought a 3 pound pack of thick cut bacon for just $3. Yes, those were great times but, unfortunately, that local Winn Dixie shut down.
