I always ask my doctor one question. “if I don’t take this drug will I die?”. If the answer is no I don’t take the drug. Consequently the only prescription drugs I take are a steroid inhaler and a decongestant for allergy driven asthma. Half the time I don’t take the decongestant.

Since asthma is associated with low vitamin D and magnesium, permit me (as a non-doctor) to suggest that (with care and caution) you might also take: a good quality food based vitamin and mineral supplement; and supplements of vitamin D3 and amino acid chelated magnesium (as magnesium glycinate, taurate, or L-threonate); and collagen peptides. These may help remedy the bronchial vasoconstriction that is the defining feature of asthma.

Notably, steroids deplete Vitamin D, which may be why asthma tends to worsen over time with the steroid drugs that are its first line medical therapy. And in my experience, the collagen peptides in the combination that I suggest may help to rebuild the vascular system and improve blood flow throughout the body. As it happens, Type II collagen is especially important to the health of the vascular system.
