Directed by John Huston, "Fat City" is a gritty boxing drama starring Stacy Keach as has-been Billy Tully and Jeff Bridges as young up-and-comer Ernie Munger, following their paths in seedy Stockton, California. It was critically praised for its realism, with influential critic Pauline Kael commenting on its bleak yet compelling portrayal of losers.
