This is because California’s state and local politicians have completely broken LA and the state in general.

It is increasingly untenable to do business:

- Too many permits - Too many laws - Too much overreach - Too many delays - Too many taxes

It’s killed Hollywood and it’s coming for Silicon Valley next.

The difference is that Silicon Valley can move. Hollywood just sat by while the government and party they blindly supported gutted their industry.

We won’t.

Hollywood has moved only it die not take Hollywood with it.

Film makers remained in Los Angeles because of the support system within the city limits. But it is going to be cheaper to leave California and film elsewhere. The support system will follow the studios.

The film industry has changed, Hollywood has not changed with it.

California needs government which is so reduced in scope and authority that its inefficiency is only a problem to itself.

Car industry too.

Grok:

Currently, there is only one major car assembly factory operating in California as of late 2025: the Tesla Fremont Factory in Fremont, California.
This facility, formerly the NUMMI plant (a GM-Toyota joint venture closed in 2010), is now owned and operated by Tesla. It produces models like the Model S, Model 3, Model X, and Model Y, with an annual capacity exceeding 650,000 vehicles. It’s widely recognized as the largest and only significant full-scale automobile manufacturing plant in the state.

Any discussion of lessening the Left’s stranglehold of Kalifornia is so very premature.

Kalifornia is the epitome of: “”It’s not who votes that counts. What matters is WHO counts the votes.””

False. Film locations have been moved to many locales in Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, the Carolinas, etc.

It was about 25 years ago I did some construction work in Ventura (Rincon Neighborhood) to help pay for college. It was disgusting what the homeowners had to do to comply with the California Coastal Commission. After we nearly completed the send story addition, (with full permits and permissions from one of those little tyrants) another one showed up and said they measured the height of the roof from their boat and said it was too high. We had to hire a crane to support the roof while we cut 6 inches off all the wall studs. That little bastard must have cost $50k just to make that jerk feel good.

Don’t get me started how Oahu bent over for Obama renovating “The Robin’s Nest.” Even the most wealthy and famous people who lived near me at Lani Kai couldn’t even replace a lightbulb without a million bucks in fees and lawsuits.

Hollywood deserves to live in a liberal hellhole... they earned that curse.

Unfortunately Hollywood's 'elites' live in safe enclaves like those surrounding Rob Reiner Mansion - none of the horrors of their sick elite ideas touch them... so they can afford to stay liberal... eff 'em.

In 1972, when a ballot initiative to create the Coastal Commission was up for a vote, I vehemently opposed it and voted no. However, even some conservatives thought it was a good idea. A girl I know who always voted GOP said she voted yes because "I like to go to the beach."

This past summer, I talked with some people in Oceano and Grover City, located on the Central Coast halfway between LA and SF. They told me that the Coastal Commission is stacked with leftists from the Bay Area and turns a deaf ear to their concerns.

I would bet not a single person on the CCC has a beach front house.

Hollywood has moved only it die not take Hollywood with it.

I think the new technology developed by Disney for the Star Wars series where they film the actors standing in front a a large curved jumbotron disconnected them from the studio backlots.

Now, they can build those studios wherever they want and project the landscape behind the actors.
