If I’m not mistaken, “I’ll Be Home For Christmas” was on the ‘B’ side of White Christmas.

The original B side of Bing Crosby's 1942 version of White Christmas was Let's Start the New Year Right. The B side of the 1947 recording, which has sold the most, was God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen.

So, as I read the timeliness, the song came, then the movie “starring” the Vermont hotelfeaturing the song at its climax was years later.
