It’s a tough ride sometimes dealing with a parent with dementia. Mom was diagnosed at 85 and passed 2 years later. She got to the point where she didn’t recognize me. I was the only one of her 6 kids that she didn’t recognize. It sort of stung at first, but I had to remember it was the disease, not her. I wouldn’t trade my last few years with her for anything though. Those are special memories!

Sadly my mom has been an unpleasant person my entire life and now is a very unpleasant person.

I joined the Army at 17 for a reason.
