WASHINGTON — The entertainment industry is mourning the loss of actors Rob Reiner and Anthony Geary following their respective deaths on Sunday. Geary and Reiner were both 78.
Reiner, who had a breakout role as Mike in Norman Lear's 1970s sitcom "All in the Family," was found dead on Sunday alongside his wife, Michelle Singer Reiner. The couple's younger son, Nick Reiner, has been arrested for their murder.
Geary, an Emmy-winning actor known for his longstanding portrayal of Luke Spencer in "General Hospital," died on Sunday following complications from an operation three days earlier, according to TV Insider.
The two actors once crossed paths and shared the screen on an early episode of "All in the Family."
In the episode "Judging Books by Covers," Geary played Roger, Mike's quirky friend, whom Archie Bunker (Carroll O'Connor) suspects is gay based on how he dresses. Archie, who is the conservative patriarch in the show, soon finds out that one of his own best friends is gay and wrongly assumes Roger's sexuality.

So Luke of General Hospital "Luke & Laura" fame was gay in real life. Boy, you think you know a guy, and then...
May he rest in peace.
I remember that episode, not Mike’s friend, but Archie‘s friend
It sounds like Archie (played by a liberal) was right. Even pretending to be conservative improves a person’s thinking.
My word, I remember that whole General Hospital thing in ads.
“I remember that episode, not Mike’s friend, but Archie‘s friend”
Rodgers was Mike’s friend.
Actually, it was Mike's friend:
“It sounds like Archie (played by a liberal) was right.”
Archie was wrong. Turned out his husky football friend was the gay.

Wow, you’re right. I never would have guessed that.
That show All in The Family is always a sore subject with me, because I always agreed with the supposedly bigoted Archie character - and still do, even after learning Archie was supposed to be mocking people like me.
The things that irritated or offended Archie also irritated and offended me.
The things Archie thought were stupid and perverse actually were stupid and perverse.
The whole thing is twisted - like making fun of people who think the 2020 election was stolen, or who believe Trump and Kavanaugh are perfect gentleman - as I do.
There are multiple intertwined ironies in this story, wild.
Wasn’t the actor gay?
I remember the scene where Archie’s friend confessed his homosexuality
I don’t remember any scene that featured meatheads buddy
Archie was right. Geary was gay.
Apples and oranges ...
Seems Geary was stabbed too. Repeatedly from behind
Too soon?
June 21, 2001, both Carroll O’Connor and John Lee Hooker died.
A few days later I saw their stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame — both at 7080 Hollywood Blvd. - separated by one blank star.
All I know is Sally Struthers was a babe!!
I always thought Geary was straight and had a relationship with Laura (Genie Francis) in real life, and had seduced Elizabeth Taylor at one point. Color me surprised.
