Leadership at the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) under former chief Pamela A. Smith (who announced on Dec. 8 she would step down at year’s end) reportedly “deliberately” suppressed or distorted crime statistics in the nation’s capital “to lower public-facing crime rates,” according to a 22-page interim report from the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform. The Committee opened the inquiry on Aug. 25, 2025, after reports suggested that crime statistics were being manipulated downward.
Oversight majority staff conducted eight transcribed interviews with seven “experienced” acting MPD district commanders and one suspended commander. There are seven geographic policing districts in the District of Columbia, and the district commanders report directly to “the highest levels of the MPD.” The Committee anonymized interviewees to protect them from retaliation.
District commanders consistently testified that Chief Smith created a “toxic management culture,” resulting in officers suffering “frustration and exhaustion” and a fear of retaliation by Smith. Commanders feared public humiliation for reporting “bad news” to Smith, particularly about “any rise in public crime statistics.” As a result, public-facing crime statistics were not reliably reported, according to the report.

DEI proponents like her and DC Mayor Muriel Bowser (both suspiciously stepping aside at the same time) have been humiliated by Donald Trump, a man of ACTION, who drastically reduced crime in the capital within a couple of months, which they could not do in years. Their solution? Cheat. THAT is DEI in a nutshell.

I have noticed that anytime crime reports are shown, latinos are always listed as white. Seems they are trying to skew the stats. Make it look like crackers are the law breakers.
City police are told to ignore personal amounts of recreational substances regardless of what it is. The city and county jails are funded by the law enforcement budget and consume a huge part of it. The largest expense for the jails is medical treatment for a small percentage of inmates who are regular customers. The police know the homeless have drugs but it’s a waste of the budget to hassle them over it. No report means no crime.
Lots of investigations going on, very few culprits behind bars.
The manipulation of crime stats are political moves to advance democrat power, their ideology and otherwise should be viewed as reparatory to excuse and hide the disparatory impact of racial misbehavior lest white liberals get their heads out of their ass. Disparate racial violence when put front and center has been shown to lose elections. Think Willie Horton. Obama’s disparate impact policy for public schools mandating school administrators to look the other way is how the Parkland high school shooter obtained an AR15.
