I flew a couple of Bears charters. Virginia McCaskey would always come to say hi and chat for a while. What a truly lovable woman.

Once, while transiting the Ohare B gates, Ginny was sitting alone and waved to me. We sat and chatted for about 5 minutes. The fact that she remembered me by name was astonishing. It brightened up a typical gloomy Chicago day.

WOW. Great story. I've always been an admirer of GSH. Did you know he was a 2-sport athlete?

I would have loved to hear some of the stories he (and his lovely daughter) could tell!

You should read his autobiography. Halas was one of the greats, imo.
