No, they did not.
The last Baptist Hymnal was in 2008. The CBF hymnal (Celebrating Grace) was published in 2010. We see in local SBC churches no use of SBC material but most are using CBF material. The triumph of liberalism in the church is coming through this.
The 2008 Baptist Hymnal lost its way when Big Entertainment took control of it. Too many leaders in the Baptist Sunday School Board let the entertainment giants control much of its content. That crossed the line.
There is an ongoing push to cease the hymnal in favour of having the denomination e-mail the latest hits off the radio to churches for ideas. The consequences are costly.
