Dang, I had a 6th grade math teacher that thought embarrassing a kid in front of the class was a motivator and that scarred me for years........I can’t imagine the mental stress this has and probably will continue to cause.

Mrs. Felts, 5th and 6th grade 1962-63, Nashville, Tn. She would take one of those thick yard sticks and beat your butt. She always ridiculed you in front of the class if you couldn’t recite the multiplication tables. We had a music teacher that threw a music book and knocked the top off of the string bass while a guy was holding it. School was tough back then.
