I wanted to get my doctorate in pharmacy from a very prestigious university in Texas. You know the one. At that time they were probably the best in the nation. My GRE was 1200 which is not shabby. The average is 1000. I was already a practicing hospital clinical pharmacist. I was not accepted and it surprised me but was not devastating to me. In reality they were doing racial quotas. I did not bother to get my doctorate elsewhere as I was already training those kids that were residents pharmacists at my VA hospital. I was "da man" They were graduated pharmicists with degrees from the university that did not accept me in their doctoral program but would let me train their graduates. It was most amusing.

In all seriousness these kid were brilliant but not really pharmacists yet. They had immense knowledge but without exposure to what really happens in hospital pharmacy on the floor they did not know how to use their great knowledge. THAT WAS MY JOB! I trained them and enjoyed it.
