I heard the conniving Bray organized a larger sizable Republican ‘no’ vote (strength in numbers) just to make it harder to target Republicans in their next re-election bid.

If Newsom is the nominee for the Dems in 2028, and wants to run on a “pro-democracy” message, he will be very vulnerable because of his extreme gerrymandering. Republicans will run the following ad — “In the 2026 mid-terms, Republicans got 37 percent of the vote in California but only 4 of the 52 Congressional seats.”

Actually, it may be the right direction.
Long time ago, Indiana Republicans gerrymandered the state in similar way. Dems sued, it even went to the Supreme court which sided with the Republicans.
But the gerrymandering diluted the Republican vote and after slight shift in voters preferences, Indiana ended up with 9 Democrats and 2 Republicans.
The proposed map looked like it might ended up similarly.
Especially dividing the district of Andree Carson may give Dems several congressional seats instead of one!

I can agree with you. The exercise also exposes who these rinos are. I would carefully choose which of the 10 should be targeted in the next primary. Older ones can quit. Younger ones with ambition can be cut off at the knees.
