Thank you for posting.
This graphic is what I was referring to.
There were only five major beer brewers in the world.
I did not realized InBev and SABMiller had merged
I guess that means there are now only four.

I wonder what that does to local distribution of their products. For example, here in southern NH there was one distributor that had the Bud products. Another one had the Miller products.

Also, I heard when Bud Lite fell from its number one spot it was replaced by Modello as the number one seller. Which was a different corporation. If they merged, then its all one big happy family.

FYI, my friend who owns a bar said that Bud Lite lost its number one spot for a year or so, but has since gained it back. This is a sports bar in a suburb west of Nashua.

I also wonder if cities like Munich, Germany still pretty much only sell Lowenbrau? When I went where in 1990 EVERY place in the whole city of 5 million ONLY served Lowenbrau.
Which is characteristic of the smaller towns in Germany, Austria and Switzerland back then. The only place you had a variety was in cities like Zurich.

This brewery was located in a suburb right between Nashua and Manchester. It is also on the Merrimack River and the CSXT railroad serviced this facility delivering rail cars of Hopps and other components.

Forty years ago the state of NH had proposed a bridge across the river connecting Hudson, NH on the east side to the Everrett Turnpike(Rt 3) on the west side. It was supposed to go on the land just south of the brewery.

In addition there are other defense contractors like BAE systems across the street and another defense contractor now owned by the Israelis. Plus there is an Tanger Outlet mall across the highway from this brewery.
So, IMHO there will be demand for this location. It might need to be broken up into several parcels though.

The sad thing for the town of Merrimack was there were ball fields(baseball, soccer, etc) on the south side of the plant that InBev maintained and let various groups use for almost free.

They also had some larger parking lots there. So, it was the location for car shows, dog shows, the Nashua Rib Fest, a concert series a couple summers. Plus it was a good place to take someone when they came into town. I have personally been there many times for all of the above.
My kennel club had dog shows there for years.
I saw The Spin Doctor’s (Indy Rock band)there during covid.
The Rib Fest brought in 1000s.
Plus, they obviously paid the town of Merrimack MILLIONS in property taxes.

What I really feel sorry for is the Blue collar guy/woman that had worked at the Bud plant for 20-40 years. Theses were good paying, typically recession proof jobs. Which will be hard to replace for people who don’t know how to code.

FWIW, looks like their workers will be offered relocation:

Yes, BUT would YOU want to move to Newark or St Louis to take a job at a Bud plant? Unless, you were plant manager or some higher end job.

The average Joe working in the bottling plant or driving a fork lift is not going to move IMHO. Unless, you have a few years just to reach retirement and maybe a pension. The fortunate thing hear in NH ANY able bodied person that wants to work can find a job tomorrow.

I have no idea.
I just know that most people who live in Merrimack, NH area probably have no interest in moving to some SH#T hole city and state just to work at a Bud Plant.

NH IMHO, is one of the best places to live in the USA.
We have one of the overall lowest tax burdens. Yet, our standard of living, lack of crime, public school system and other factors make NH a much better place to live in the world.

It’s nice, but it is now a purple state surrounded by blue states—and in a blue media market.

Plus, very high property taxes and very cold!

CA, FL, TX, CO, etc. Plenty of decent brewery locations in the US.

Yes, property taxes are very high.
However, we pay ZERO State income tax and only sales tax on food in restaurants.

Yes, it is cold in the winter. However, it is NOT 100 or more in the summer. I also drive less than a half hour to work and live on 12 acres where I shot a deer in the woods behind my house less than 10 miles from Nashua.

Who watches the media ? Other than Patriots/Bills games. Like this Sunday. I stream EVERYTHING.

NH also has a Republican controlled State House. A Republican controlled State Senate. A Republican controlled Executive Council and a Republican Governor.
Yes, all our current US congress critters are Dems.
I suspect that will change next November.
