Why bother, MASKS DON’T WORK!
And there are a number of studies 10 -20 years ago testing the hypothesis that masks work, using hospital personnel with properly fitted N95 masks. Even under those conditions they didn’t keep ‘em from getting the flu.
Sooo many people think masks do work though. And soooo many that comply with anything they’re told.

I think the rezoning is that doctors wear masks in surgery, therefore they prevent infection. Doctors wear masks because microscopic droplets of spit spray out when we talk. The mask catches them. But microscopic is orders of magnitude larger than viruses. Probably a difference on the order of between a baseball glove and a fly.
Politicians, who don’t know cow dung from shoe polish want to seem to be doing something. Therefore, they do something that seems logical from the perspective of the uneducated politician that makes it appear they do know something, and they are DOING something. They are preaching to the surprisingly common wearers of masks inside airconditioned cars. I’m still seeing that. After seeing the drivers of three EV’s in a row, driving alone while wearing masks, I’ve started paying attention. I’ll bet they also have coexist or similar bumper stickers.

If masks don’t ever work, why do surgeons where them?
The only good reason to wear a mask is to rob a bank.
The best ones are rubber gorilla masks you can put on over your head.
These aren’t masks.
