Statistics and reporting on statistics can be most interesting. For a borader picture....

By the metric of another site, Russia and the US are rather similar, circa 0.85 - 0.87 but what is interesting is to note that the UK stands at about 1.8, so more than double Russia or these United States. Germany is higher at about 1.9 and Norway is at 2.01. Hong Kong is about 3.71.

Cheapest, as if that is a metric worth cheering, is Libya at 0.028, but none of us would want to go there.....

From the site -- "As a general rule, richer countries have higher prices while poorer countries and the countries that produce and export oil have significantly lower prices. One notable exception is the U.S. which is an economically advanced country but has low gas prices. "

Surely seems one can look at comparative hgasoline prices around the US to find that those wacky "liberals" drive up prices with controls and taxation here. In that regard, Source: Gasoline prices, liter, 08-Dec-2025 GasBuddy, current info.

Thanks, I posted before reading down. I suspected that most of the world pays FAR MORE than Russia, even countries with lower standards of living, like in Europe.
