Silver was up over $80 under Little Jimmy Cah-ter. I don't remember silver spot ever being that high. I know it reached 50 back in the 1980s. But never 80.

Ok... so it just squeaked over the $50 mark on January 18, 1980 with the Hunt Bros doing their market cornering maneuver. However, $50 in 1980 is worth about $200 today....

I remember silver being $50 an ounce in 1980.
My father urged me to sell all the 90% silver coins I had collected as a kid and I took his advice and did so.
