Anyone who reads military history understands how those things often work. It is like one of Ernest Hemingway's characters in his novel The Sun Also Rises said when asked about how he went bankrupt, where he replied:
"Gradually and then suddenly."
He may wake up one day to find Ukrainian forces being routed in a pell mell retreat, and then, for him...it is Katy Bar The Door.
It doesn't surprise any of us that he hasn't read it. And I suspect it didn't surprise Trump, either. But when the lives of hundreds of thousands of your own citizens hang in the balance, you better read any proposition that comes your way.
This “gradually and then suddenly” thing has been put forward for 5 years by you Russian BOTS. Right now Russia is getting its rear end kicked. All Russia is doing is killing civilians at night.
The war in Ukraine does not boil down to number of soldiers vs number of soldiers.
Russia is broke financially. They are losing oil refineries almost a couple a week. Oil tankers will now stop transporting oil for Russia. When the planes and golf carts no longer have gas and troops cannot be paid and Russia can’t stop loosing 30,000 off the battlefield each week, then Russia will have to leave Ukraine.
