One of my sisters had that exact same car!...................

I changed 600 timing belts in that same POS car.
The clutches were junk too.
They really should put it back in the ground.

Pinto’s and Maverick’s were just as bad but they sold millions of them.

Out all the cars to choose from- they close a Chevy Vega . It could have been worse, I guess. They could have choose a Ford Pinto .
Frankly, there were not that many 1975 model year American cars worth preserving . There is a reason the Japanese ate our lunch making cars

I am totally unimpressed. We have cars this old that have been preserved and are driving around on the road without having to be put underneath a pyramid for 50 years. In fact restored cars from the ‘60s or more of a thing.

They also buried a Kawasaki motorcycle. I wonder which model? At that time, the KZ900 was the fastest production bike on the road. It was a two-stroker.................

One of my HS classmate’s family had a Vega with the Cosworth engine. It probably still rusted out.

Me too!........... GOOGLE AI: The Kawasaki in the Seward, Nebraska time capsule, buried in 1975 and opened recently (July 2025), was a blue Kawasaki enduro, likely an F-series model, found in great condition alongside a Chevy Vega, showcasing excellent preservation for its 50-year burial. Type: Enduro (Dual-Sport). Color: Blue. Condition: Surprisingly good, validating the capsule's design. Context: Part of the World's Largest Time Capsule, meant to represent 1975. Looks like this:

My ex-wife had a souped up Pinto wagon, neon orange, raised up in the back, with fat tires and mag wheels when I married her. It was actually a pretty fun to drive and eye catching car while we had it.

I had a 2 door wagon. It was horrible. Fortunately for me there were plenty of them in the junkyards to rob parts off of.

They looked good, but they started rusting on the showroom floor.
