It looks like your computer and browser are doing this. Free Republic's server sets this as a date field which can be reformatted locally.

Is this a new computer or browser? Have you changed any location or language settings? This not only changed the date format, it also changed the time to the 24-hour clock on Pacific Standard Time (20:26:52 instead of my 11:26:52 PM).
