For the first time in program history, Indiana is the Big Ten champion and No. 1 team in college football following Saturday night's 13-10 triumph over Ohio State. The win catapults the Hoosiers to the top spot in Sunday's updated AP Top 25 rankings. Behind Heisman frontrunner Fernando Mendoza at quarterback and a Herculean defensive effort, the Hoosiers were elite in the red zone, highlighted by a fourth-and-1 stop at their own 5 late in the third quarter.

No. 1: Indiana Hoosiers (13-0, Big Ten champs)
No. 2: Georgia Bulldogs (12-1, SEC champs)
No. 3: Ohio State Buckeyes (12-1)
No. 4: Texas Tech Red Raiders (12-1, Big 12 champs)
It’s great to see Indiana and Texas Tech in the top four…to make the sport interesting there has to be mixing of top teams. To have the same teams at the top year after year makes the sport boring.

Alabama, Miami in, Notre Dame out.
Let the bitching commence.
Disney/ESPN is protecting it’s product.
Has Indiana ever won a “national championship” during the AP/Coaches poll era?
Yeah but they had two chances at that.
Buckeyes just switched places with the Hoosiers. They’re ranked #2. Dawgs are #3.

Dawgs are #2.
I was hoping it would have been structured so that if Tulane beat Ole Miss, they would get to play Georgia, so Sumrall would get some good SEC experience before coming to Gainesville.
Only in basketball.
Ok, the Dawgs are #2, but they are playing as the third seed in the playoff rankings. The Buckeyes only loss was to the number one team, by 3 points. That was a close game. So I think the committee did the right thing by putting them as the #2 seed.
I’m glad to see Tulane in the mix. This will be good experience for Sumrall in any event.
I still think Ohio State is the team to beat. This will just make them more determined.
Ahh I stand corrected. Ohio State is #2.
A very, very dumb move.
Bama should be out. JMU, Tulane? Why?
