“what if a person has all of those maladies and they don’t smoke pot?”

Pregnant?

After spending 25 years responding to idiots who have destroyed their health with frequent pot use... I have learned that mentioning the crap that I saw goes in one ear and out the other of the potheads who post here.

I feel very sorry for all the people who have tragically
died in fires while you stood off to the side, stamping
your little feet and ranting about "potheads".

I hope there are consequences for you, in this life and the next.

I find it ironic how tobacco has been completely demonized while pot has become embraced and mainstreamed.

Heck, I've even seen highway billboards advertising a local pot farm and received ads for it in the mail.

That seems reasonable enough. Experience matters, and experience in these matters is a matter of complete zenith paramountcy if there is to be a coherent discussion regarding the pros and cons of marijuana or “marihuana”, which is probably more controversial than it should to be. It’s like a mob of life-long vegetarians trying to argue with non-”vegans” over how they should grill their steaks.

My brother just turned 72. He’s been smoking the stuff for over 50 years. I don’t know if he has any of those symptoms, I just know that he claims it’s because of back pain. He’s not as mentally sharp as he used to be, even my sister in law, who smokes it as well, says he smokes it way too much. I’m pretty sure it’s not because of his age.

The social implications of our not only legalizing but presenting it as harmless are yet to fully unfold but I do not think we will care for the results.

Yes. Some naturopaths are even recommending regular use for pregnant women.

You won't see a billboard for cigarettes anywhere, but here in Arizona, there are colorful billboards featuring Cannibis gummies, cheeseburgers, pizza, chips . . . Buy One Get One Free specials . . . Father's Day discounts for dad . . . Woman owned Cannabis businesses

Not a hint of a warning of overuse, side-effects or even an attempt to not make the ads appeal to children.

My son has had marijuana smoke blown in his face at the park, our old neighbors smoked outside enough that the stench infested our yard. Legalization is a disaster.

“The cure for “scromiting” (screaming uncontrollably while vomiting your head off) is to simply stop using your cannabis.”

There must be another way.

My brother has been smoking the stuff for over 50 years. My sister in law smokes it too, but not as much. Here’s the kicker-she also smokes cigarettes. She is a breast cancer survivor. When I suggested to her that she should stop smoking, she told me to go “f” myself. Oh, I almost forgot- she’s a retired nurse.
Can’t make this stuff up.

Once again, thanks for what you do. My brother has been smoking pot for over 50 years. I don’t know if he’s exhibiting any of these symptoms, but I am bookmarking this thread for future reference.

A guy at church treats his PTSD from Vietnam with it. I was at a Revival and thought someone had lit up a joint but it was just him after hotboxing in his truck. My family member is hopelessly hooked to point it is her normal. She’s never stoned because she is always stoned.

About 10 years ago, I had a student withdraw from classes because of this. The problem is young people relentlessly smoking honey oil and other 99% THC products. The effect is real, she vomited for two weeks while on an IV and she was already thin. She was treated by the hospital, released, and then smoked again and the whole process restarted.

Whoa, I’m glad I caught that. I should’ve backspaced the word “to” out. I wouldn’t want anyone to think that I could be stoned enough to make such a grossly egregious error.

I know 3 people who have psychotic issues with pot. It is scary to witness. 2 0f the 3 have done long-term brain damage. 1 of those 2 is also a heavy drinker. All are good people but the damage is unbelievable.

I always felt that when the druggies of the 1960s came of age they would move to legalize MJ and possibly other drugs.
I now see cannabis stores in quite a few places.
Wonder what drugs our young druggies will try to legalize when they get older.

Agree. It’s the smoke that’s bad for you. It’s not so much the drug properties. Doesn’t matter if it’s cigarettes or marijuana. The smoke is what causes cancer. An oncologist told me that.

Chronic cannabis intoxication impairs brain function and judgment. It takes a long time for the body to clear cannabis from storage, and during that time the user is usually not aware that he is intoxicated by it.

“The smoke from both will eventually kill you.”
***********************************

I’ve been a life long smoker of both though for the last 2 years I’ve consumed cannabis gummies instead of smoking it. I believe the cannabis is what has prevented me from getting cancer and there’s plenty of research suggesting that is the case.

Cannabinoids as anticancer drugs: current status of preclinical research
https://www.nature.com/articles/s41416-022-01727-4

” a large body of data suggests that the anticancer effects of cannabinoids are exerted at multiple levels of tumour progression via different signal transduction mechanisms. Accordingly, there is considerable evidence for cannabinoid-mediated inhibition of tumour cell proliferation, tumour invasion and metastasis, angiogenesis and chemoresistance,
as well as induction of apoptosis and autophagy. Further studies showed that cannabinoids could be potential combination partners for established chemotherapeutic agents or other therapeutic interventions in cancer treatment.”

Oh I forgot to mention that I’ve smoked 3 packs a day for 51 years and was an alcoholic for 40 years both of which would put me at a high risk for cancer.

These were my only words in this thread up until your idiotic comment.

“After spending 25 years responding to idiots who have destroyed their health with frequent pot use... I have learned that mentioning the crap that I saw goes in one ear and out the other of the potheads who post here.”

“But believe it or not even in a society that basically worships alcohol use, habitual consumption, smoking or vaping marijuana is somehow a bigger threat to most peoples’ health than pickling your brain with alcohol.”

“Why? Hell, if I know, but it is the God’s honest truth.”

I am curious. What about that post triggered your delicate sensitivities?
