I worked IT in the SF Bay Area and had a buddy who I would team up with a jug of Sangria, jump in the car, and travel to Las Vegas for the weekend. Damned if we didn’t come across a car out of gas on the way, with a bunch of black guys and their ‘Booker T’ trailer. We were 2 white guys, and liked the band, so we stopped and helped them out, in the middle of nowhere in the middle of the night on a stretch of desert highway. Those times are sorely missed.
