They can go back to ululating in the desert as the tribes hack one another apart. No assimilation, no acceptance. Human garbage was the term President Trump used I believe. It fits.
“Tim Walz is not a charged participant in the Minnesota Somali fraud cases,” but he is facing federal investigations into his administration’s handling and oversight of the state programs from which the funds were stolen.
Federal prosecutors have charged at least 86 individuals, many of Somali descent, in connection with schemes that stole more than $250 million (and potentially up to $1 billion across various programs) in federal and state funds, particularly from a child nutrition program during the COVID-19 pandemic. Over 50 people have been convicted.
The Somali fraud involved creating sham nonprofits that billed for meals and services that were never provided, with some funds allegedly diverted overseas to a terrorist group, al-Shabaab.
Investigations and Walz’s Response: The U.S. Treasury Department and the House Oversight and Accountability Committee have launched investigations into Walz’s handling of the fraud and the alleged diversion of funds to a terror organization.
Walz has stated that his administration is actively prosecuting offenders, welcomes the federal investigation, and has implemented measures to combat fraud. He has also pushed back against what he calls “demonizing an entire community” based on the actions of a few individuals.
In short, the existing criminal charges are against the individuals who perpetrated the fraud, not against Walz directly. The current federal probes are focused on his administration’s alleged negligence and failure to stop the fraud sooner.
