While abortion may be justified in order in rare cases when there is no hope for a live birth (mainly ectopic pregnancies) and to actually save the physical life of the mother (who may usually thereby care for and have and children), the clause "the health of the mother" in abortion legislation allows for a broad use of that exception for physicians in order to justify abortion.

Meanwhile, adoption requirements may be too restrictive (like against low income but wise and thrifty parents) or too inclusive (LGBTQ couples and individuals can adopt in all 50 states).
