The book “MIG PILOT”, “The final escape of Lt. Belenko” tells the complete story, from Belenko’s childhood until he defected, WITH his new Mig-25 to Hakodate Japan, on Hokkaido island, and then he was brought here to the States where he was given assylem. The Mig was disassembled in Japan, examined, and then returned to Russia in a box. Needless to say, the Russkies were highly P.O.d. it’s such a great story, I keep a paperback copy and read it again about every 5 years or so.
