I went to high school in a former farming community near a big city. Graduated in ‘78. About 1/3 of the student body were from farming or ranches and most drove pickups. All of them had rear window gun racks and all of those racks had shotguns and or rifles in the racks. And all were parked in the high school parking lot. And never once did anyone take them out of the rack much less use one against a fellow student. The thought never even occurred to us.
Exactly. I was put in Catholic school when a yute brought a gun to my sister’s jr. high school. Until then, no one EVER thought to do harm to any other student.
