CNN’s Perez: Some Afghans ‘Bought Backgrounds from Brokers’, ‘There’s Been a Struggle’ to Ensure Vetting Was Right
Breitbart ^ | November 28, 2025 | Ian Hanchett

On Friday’s broadcast of CNN’s “Inside Politics,” CNN Senior Justice Correspondent Evan Perez stated that while Afghans from the unit that the suspected shooter of two members of the National Guard were vetted, “there’s been a struggle, too, to try to make sure that the vetting was appropriate. I’ll tell you this, there were examples of people who essentially bought backgrounds from brokers.”

Perez said, “There were thousands of members of this unit that this suspect came from, the NDS, that worked in Afghanistan directly for the CIA. There’s a reason why they got sort of expedited entry into the United States after the fall of Afghanistan. And so, those people were vetted a number of times. But there’s been a struggle, too, to try to make sure that the vetting was appropriate. I’ll tell you this, there were examples of people who essentially bought backgrounds from brokers.”

He continued, “And so, the question — the problem with Afghanistan has been that there’s no functioning system to be able to check those — the data, the background check information. And it’s been a problem that has worried the FBI and DHS since the fall Afghanistan — of Kabul.”

On CNN they can't make a statement of truth unless it's accompanied by a contradictory statement.

I personally know a couple who bought “citizenship” papers that work. Later on they got green cards.

“Citizens” are not eligible for the green card program.

This kind of stuff happens a lot, and I’ve heard that sometimes it comes from people working for the State Department.

We need to verify that you worked for the US.

What types of work did you do for the US in Afghanistan:

Name all the units both Afghan and US you can think of that would know you worked for US government:

Name all the persons in US service and all the Afghans who were in Afghanistan’s service you believe would be in the US who might remember and recommend you, giving us as many of the following (last name, first name, rank, unit, age, height[short, average, tall], body type[fat, average, thin], hair color, eye color) as you can:

Were you paid by US personnel in Afghanistan?

If so, by who, for how much, approximate start date, approximate end date:

Name as many places in Afghanistan where you were with US forces to the best of your ability:

“vetting”

[interesting aside]

From what I saw on The Conservative Treehouse, he stayed with a man whose company ran 1200 veterinary hospitals.

Ah yes. The federal government has deemed millions of young men from India as being smarter than Americans and gave them all H-1B visas. Another disaster just waiting to happen.

“I am with the Federal government and I am here to help” is a statement famously associated with Ronald Reagan, which he used ironically as a joke.

Punishing them to send them back?
They weren’t supposed to be here in the first place.
US taxpayers never got to vote on any of the $$$$ going to “refugees.”
It comes from US. Not the government.
Send them back and let them whine to Saudi Arabia who is also muslim and has a shitload of $$$$, but never seems to help fellow muslims.
These people prey in “Christian kindness.”
It’s a racket.
We’ve got enough to deal with and the piggy bank is EMPTY.
The democrats are stealing from us too!
Opps! Must raise the gas tax, opps, must raise all Oregon taxes.

Vetting - what a joke!!

A country where people are born in mud huts in the hinterlands, with no electricity, there are few if any records, with unstable government and constant conflict, no civil institutions, where people speak an unknown and obscure language and where an American can’t travel, except as part of an armed column.

What deep state propagandist wants us to believe it is possible to “vet” anyone from that country?
