Some think UFOs must be visitations by an advanced race of space travelers. But there’s a better explanation.

Scientist and author Jacques Vallée says the facts don’t support the “advanced race of space travelers” hypothesis.

This same Jacques Vallée “served as the real-life model for Lacombe, the researcher portrayed by François Truffaut in Steven Spielberg’s Close Encounters of the Third Kind.”

Behind the scenes of the movie, Vallée tried to interest Spielberg in an alternative explanation for the phenomenon.
