What nonsense! As has been pointed out many times, Ukraine was ineligible to join NATO because of the Russian occupation of Crimea and eastern Donbas. There was also opposition to Ukrainian membership by a number of European nations, including Germany. Additionally, early on Zelensky offered neutrality and no NATO in return for Russian withdrawal. Putin turned him down. Russia did not invade to prevent NATO expansion but to bring Ukraine back under Russian hegemony. Russian nationalists, including Putin, have never recognized Ukrainian independence. This, in their mind, is the root cause of the conflict. Stop pretending that Russia is an innocent actor in this war.

Ukraine apparently didn't get that memo, for Ukraine applied 8 years afdter Russia seized control of the Crimea in 2014 following the Maidan Revolution, for NATO membership in September 2022, following Russia's illegal annexation of parts of its territory.
If Ukraine never received the memo, I doubt that Eussia received it either.

That I know is not just nonsense, it is a complete lie. What happeneded there is the Zelenskyy agreed to declare Ukraine as being neutral after Russia invaded. But then Boris Johnson came from GB to Ukraine and told Zelenskyy that he must not trust what Pitin promised, because he said Putin cannot be trusted. Then I am prestty sure that the Nazis in Ukraine threatened Ukraine that all stops would be removed and violence would spread across Ukraine far & wide if Zelenskyy folowed through with that agreement. Now I cannot prove that claim regarding the Nazis, but I have heard that claim bring made. But that is irrevany. What is relevant is that it was Zelenskyy did not follow throough with that promise to declare itself neutral, and did not obviously state that he would not join Ukraine, or he would have never submitted an application for NATO membership that you claim has been reported many times that Ukraine NAO membership was decided before Putin ever invaded.
Ukraine had its sovereignty, for nearly a quarter of a century, until Viktor Yanukovych decided to accept only the Russian trade deal after being told by the EU that if he accepted the Russian trade deal they would rescind their trade deal offer. Viktor Yanukovych was prepaed to sign both trade deals, as that was the best option for Ukraine.
Then the Obama Administration under the CIA fomented a color revolution that turned into a coup d'état that removed Viktor Yanukovych with threatsviolence. This was after Viktor Yanukovych had promised the EU rthat he would call for an early election, to provide for a peaceful transfer of power for the nation of Ukraine.
You believe that you know what happened, but in reality all you know is the propaganda presneted by our leaders, Europe's leaders, and Ukraine's leaders.
