The three-strikes law was working. At least in my town you could feel the difference as the danger faded away over the next couple of years. But almost immediately judges and prosecutors (and legislators) started undermining the law until it disappeared. So now you get people with a dozen felonies walking the streets preying on people.
I met one dude… kidnap, murder tour times. I thought three times that was your ass. Right? No.
I said. “What happened?”
“I can’t get the s___ right. But I’m gettin’ paroled in two years. Brother Rich. I’m gonna fire it up. I got some contacts outside. You know what I mean?”
I said, “Yeah, I know what you mean.”
See. I wanna know when this m_________r gettin’ out… who he gonna be with. And it I see him in my neighborhood. I’m just gonna shoot the m_________r.
