Wife and I went to Rome and visited Pompeii + Amalfi Coast. Pompeii was fascinating. Next Time I think spending more times in Pompeii area would be very enjoyable
Lots of beauty in Italy....we drove the Amalfi Highway and spent the night in Sorrento - I was stationed on the boot heel at San Vito AS....the port city of Brindisi gave us the opportunity to meet people from all over Europe and even some visiting “Americani”. Lived in a village called Specchiolla - it was/is a resort town right on the beach...in the Winter, Americans could have elected their own mayor - in the Summer if filed with vacationing Itals - never saw so many skimpy string bikinis on so many beautiful young women in my life.
