“after the passage of ocare, my private health insurance premium immediately went from
$350.00 every OTHER month to $750.00 PER month.
the next year it went to $1500.00/ month.
the year after that, $1800.00/month.
this was not an everything policy, just a high deductible,
major medical and catastrophic hospitalization policy – no dental, no vision, no drug coverage.
i kept it for 5 years after the ocare debacle.
last premium before i dropped it was a little OVER $2000.00/month.
paid almost $100,000.00 for a policy i never used because i was always under the deductible
on the 2 or 3 times i sought care.
it is NOT comforting to know that i paid for those folks now complaining
that their subsidized health insurance policies now costs a little more.”
