As a Washingtonian I will protest. One should look at the topography of the state. The dividing line is at the Cascade Crest of the Cascade Mtns. The Wesdside has always been liberal and communist.

Early in the State's history the IWW union was quite strong in logging and other industries.

The Eastside of the Cascades has been agricultural, logging and other industries. It is largely Republican. But, the population is on the Westside and they are predominately Democrats and have stolen election for decades.
