The problem for the board at Glock was not that people could convert one of their pistols to full automatic. The problem for Glock was that Democrat politicians in Kalifornia banned Glock handguns, citing that they could be modified.

No that’s fudd lore. Anyone who has served with the M4 platform should be able to mag dump at FA the entire mag into am E silhouette at 25 meters. The recoil is a steady push not some mythical jackhammer. The MP5SD would dump a whole mag at 50 meters into a E target it’s suppressed and smooth like butter again it’s a push not a jerking action 700+ rounds per min is simply too fast for individual recoil pulses to matter it’s blends to a steady push back.
Pistol FA is controllable if you have a fore grip for a two handed hold or add a Glock Stock the folding kind to the hole behind the mag well it turns the Glock into a very VER
Effective PDW put on the rail up front a vertical handhold , the folding stock and holographic optics on the slide you now have a 100 meter effective range FA if you switch it that will hold head sized targets at 50 meters , center of mass at 100 and full mag dump at 25-50 into a human sized torso. Of course civys after 1986 cannot modify a Glock to this PDW configuration legally in the USA but in other countries you can and people do often.

Turns you ghetto spray and pray into a world class PDW in trained hands it’s a PSO’s dream carry in a shoulder holster under a suit with 33 round mags under the other shoulder and a 20rd in the mag well ready to go. Can confirm 100 meter hits are easy to make. Like I said other countries than the USA get to play with and in my case work with weapons civys don’t get here.

You can also get for like $50 force reset triggers for Glocks that let you feather them and mag dump just like a switch but no mods needed it’s a single 3D printed plastic part and a metal reset lever. I’ve evolved my opinion of Glock since this was their first significant policy move post Gaston. Their engineers must have anticipated this obvious next action but still Glock bent the knee to CA and so encouraged the antis to go after Ruger next.
There’s merit to either approach.
1) Congress could, and should, admit that they screwed up passing unconstitutional bills, and rectify their error ... with massive apologies to We the People.
2) SCOTUS could, and should, tell Congress that they screwed up passing unconstitutional bills. They claim that’s their job, so they should bloody well do it.
Smart electromechanical guns with an infrared sensor and image analysis means could be made that only fire when the gun is correctly pointed at a warm body that has not been shot at in a manner that appears likely to be lethal.
The gun could have image analysis movement suggestion LEDs and the gun would be fired when its movement reaches a point of maximum likely success.
Blunderbusses can be made.
Things can be done that I can’t state publicly.

You should see what a Glock with holographic optics , a folding stock and folding fore grip can do head shots at 50 meters all day every day, mag dumps into a torso sized area at 25+ and 10/10 hits at 100 meters from the knee or retaining wall braced. The Glock makes for a fearsome PDW when configured right. NFA 86 just doesn’t let civys play class 7/2 all day every day. Make friends or form an LLC just saying.
