Ancient giant kangaroos like Procoptodon goliah could stand nearly 3 meters (around 9-10 feet) tall and weigh up to 240 kg (about 530 pounds). Other giant species, like Protemnodon viator, could reach 2.4 meters (around 8 feet) when standing and weigh up to 170 kg (375 pounds). These ancient kangaroos were much larger than modern kangaroos, with some species being more than three times heavier than today’s biggest kangaroos.
Holy cow.
A family of four could live in their pouches!
