Fly-tippers have dumped a "grotesque" mountain of waste in a field in Oxfordshire.
The "environmental catastrophe unfolding in plain sight" is up to 150m (490ft) long and 6m (20ft) high and has appeared on a site between the River Cherwell and the A34 near Kidlington.
Calum Miller, Liberal Democrat MP for Bicester and Woodstock, has raised the issue in Parliament, saying it was "threatening an environmental disaster".
He also said Cherwell District Council had estimated the cost of removing the waste would be greater than its entire annual budget.
"This is not a licensed waste site and we can just see the quantity of waste that has been dumped here, that's illegal, so it's criminal," Mr Miller said, calling it "pollution on a grotesque scale".
"That's not something that local residents and taxpayers can afford."
He says "criminal gangs are dumping waste on this scale" across the country and it will take government intervention before pollutants "leech out" into local rivers.
The Environment Agency said it would try to "ensure those responsible" for the waste cleared it up.

Why am I so suspicious of WHO is doing the illegal waste dumping, and WHAT their cultures, traditions, and values are?
The illegals caught here should be made to clean up the garbage they left when they came from Mexico. The mountains of garbage they left is staggering.
A 500ft long pile of waste didn't show up overnight.
Possibly because that’s how India and other s-hole countries get all their scenic views?

Considering the cost that you admit to, it is likely that those with a judgment against them will simply declare bankruptcy and go on with their lives.
It is probably cheaper to just dig a curtain drain around the site sink a couple of vent pipes in the pile and put a clay cap over the pile and hope for the best.

It has been shown that free market, capitalist, democratic societies are far more beneficial to the environment than backwards tyrannical ones.
When the Iron Curtain came down, the environmental disaster was clearly visible to the West.
And so we see it with the flight of people from Africa, the Middle East, and South/Central America. Just look at the giant swaths of filth in the routes that illegals into the USA used for years, covered with everything from used toilet paper and needles to women’s underclothing torn from their bodies...and everything in between.

This area is about an hour from Birmingham.
Which has a yuge migrant population.
Reportedly, because nobody’s paying for it, tbe trash migrants generate there is not being collected.

And my bet is, if this is what’s going on, every level of government has known all along and turned a blind eye.

Find a piece of garbage with personal info on it and bill that guy for the entire cleanup, under pain of jail or deportation. Also, the entire Council should be sacked for allowing this to happen.

Pointing fingers at illegals doing something illegal would be blaming the victim.
Illegals would never do anything illegal. They are just powerless, oppressed people trying desperately to improve their lives at someone else's expense.
