There have been reams of propaganda claiming wolves in North America are not dangerous to people.

Probably the worst was “Never Cry Wolf” a fabrication by Farley Mowat, who famously said, to the effect: I never allow the truth to get in the way of a good story.

Mowat’s tale has been repeatedly debunked, but people want to believe it.

Never Cry Wolf was a very funny book. I honestly read it as fiction.
