A couple of schoolchums of mine - brothers - had a birthday celebration a couple months ago (born a few days apart but a couple of years separate).
The elder, Steve, has played in several WS plays and some of the guests are in the acting/directing biz.
They couldn’t remember any lines about birthdays in WS and were shocked when I recited one from “King John” (”NOBODY knows ‘King John,’ how did you DO that?!”)

Heh... oddly enough, the very first film version of any of the plays was of “King John”. I’m sure I’ve never seen it. I’d never seen “Measure for Measure” (or known anything about it) when I got out that DVD. “Twelfth Night” was also unfamiliar but I enjoyed that one the most. MfM is a comedy, more or less, but also an odd romance, with a happy ending. WTH Shakespeare?
