I now some Freepers will not be happy about this, but it's North Carolina law.

Why would they be unhappy about it?

I am completely in favor of the use of this law.

I think it’s pretty funny. Shame they can’t find a way to make the former husband cover some of the cost.

You want to screw around on your spouse? Don’t live in NC.

The fact that the woman is a Tik Tok “influencer” makes it even funnier to me.

I’m very happy with this, and think that it should be the law in every state. Actions have consequences. Just as normal guys know (or at least should know) don’t mess with jailbait, women who deliberately and knowingly mess with a marriage should bear the consequences of their actions. Destroying a marriage by knowingly seducing a married individual, even if that individual contributes, should carry consequences.

I think it is a brilliant idea for the jilted spouse to be able to sue the person who seduces the other spouse.

Talk about discouraging affairs; that will do it.

My God what an ugly mutant this “Tik-Tok” influencer (LOL) is! Something went awry when her DNA chain was forming...

Texas no longer has this law, but when it still did there was a case in my small Hill Country town.

An interior designer moved here, and had an affair with a local business owner. The Designer’s husband sued and won. Business Owner lost his half of the business, his wife divorced him, and moved to the Coast.

The Designer and her husband moved to San Antonio. She again had an affair, and her husband sued for alienation of affection. I think they lost the case when it came to light that before moving to my small town the couple had lived in New Braunfels where the Designer had an affair, husband sued for alienation of affection, and won.

Basically, the Design business was just a front for their real source of income, Alienation of Affection lawsuits.

Every state should allow this. It is criminal to destroy a marriage. Both the cheating spouse and the affair partner should be able to be sued for damages.

In Japan and Taiwan it is criminal as well.
