For what it's worth, the Little Ice Age had a 50-year warming period from roughly AD 1470 to 1520 before continuing the cooling. In the expanded graph below, ignore the exaggeration of the rise in temps in the modern warm period (making the modern warm period look like we're warming more than ever).

I point out the 50 year warming during the LIA as a way to say I'm not too worried about the possible brief cooling we've experienced during the Modern Warm Period. With the Modern Warm Period being 1.5 to 2 centuries old, if it lasts as long as the prior couple of warming periods we've probably got 2 to 4 more centuries before it tops out.

Yep, But you didn't go back far enough to display the true reallity... In the longer term cycle it has always been an iceage coming not global warming. In fact it is just slightly late. All along since the 70s those who claimed an iceage was coming were absolutely correct. It happens approximately every 125-150 thousand years and we are right now due again. The earth has actually only been warm 15% of it's life...
