Growing coffee contributes to “climate change”. Greta would not be happy.

As Glenn Reynold of Instapundit fame would say: coffee, what can it not do? He literally has been saying this for decades.

Coffee, is there anything it can’t do!

Yes, but I have been trying to cut back a little bit anyway.

(I’m down to two pots a day now.)

Good grief. Causes afib. Cures afib. May cause, may cure! Make up your mind

Let’s see...
1 cup decreases the chance of Afib by 39%.
2 cups by 80%
3 cups a day should have me sitting pretty!

Hmm, well designed study. Participants had AFib and were required to drink coffee. AFib is also common in advanced/elite athletes in sports with a significant endurance component. None of the people I know with AFib are overweight; all were exceptionally fit.

While the specific “oldest person” who still drinks coffee changes, Richard Overton, America’s oldest World War II veteran, was widely reported to still be drinking coffee at age 112 in 2018. Many centenarians and supercentenarians consume coffee regularly as part of their diet, sometimes alongside other habits like smoking cigars or drinking whiskey.

Regardless of how true this is I wouldn’t want to live in a world without coffee. It is one of God’s great gifts to us.

totally bogus study ...

“At the end of the study, the group that drank coffee experienced a 39% lower risk of recurring AFib episodes.”

most likely what the study discovered is that those whose Afib was triggered by coffee continued to drink it, and those who were Afib-sensitive to it stopped drinking it... there are many triggers for Afib, and they are different for different people ....

And once or twice a week, drop a clove into your coffee to boost your immune system. Don’t eat the clove.

And I recently heard that 4 cups of black coffee helps fatty liver disease. Assists the liver in clearing itself. I think I’ll go have another cup...

I had both afib and flutter and my electrophwhatist said lay off the coffee.

Chocolate, too, the heretic!!

So, I just got the operation. A year ago, no recurrence.

The alternative was death — since the drugs that work on Afib don’t on flutter.
